Dr. Luke Bigham PT, DPT, OCS founded Life Control Balance.
As a Physical Therapist and Doctor of Physical Therapy with Board Certification in Orthopedic Specialist, he provide expert care and treatment for a wide range of musculoskeletal conditions. My advanced training and specialized knowledge allow me to develop tailored treatment plans to help patients recover from injuries, manage chronic pain, improve mobility, and enhance overall physical function. With a focus on evidence-based practice and patient-centered care, I am committed to helping individuals achieve their health and wellness goals.
Luke, a graduate of Connellsville Area High School (Pa) in 2015, pursued further education by attending Slippery Rock University (Pa) where he earned his bachelor’s degree in exercise science in 2019. His academic journey continued as he completed a doctorate in physical therapy from Gannon University in Ruskin, Florida in 2022. During PT school, Luke's passion for exercise, health and wellness, and sports medicine flourished, leading him to graduate with a perfect 4.0 GPA and receive the prestigious award of Academic Excellence. To expand his expertise, Luke completed an orthopedic residency at the James A Haley Tampa VAMC, enhancing his skills in the field of physical therapy and orthopedics in 2023. During the residency, he gained experience in outpatient and direct access care, chronic pain and neuroscience training, cardiac rehab, emergency, and urgent care assessment, vestibular and concussion management, and pediatric and sports medicine care. Other focuses included preventive health and wellness promotion, strength and conditioning, and advancement of physical therapy scope of practice. He gained experience in various areas of physical therapy training and advancing the profession both clinically and administratively. Following completion of his orthopedic residency, Luke would become a board Certified Orthopedic Specialist (OCS) in 2024 through the APTA which is the highest level of orthopedic certification in physical therapy practice.
Luke's passion for exercise, health, and wellness, as well as his drive to advance the world of exercise and medicine, inspired him to establish Life Control Balance. His primary goal is to assist individuals in achieving healthier and more sustainable lifestyles. Luke's expertise lies in orthopedics, sports medicine, primary and preventive care, athletic performance, strength and conditioning, and exercise program development. Beyond healthcare, Luke is enthusiastic about University of Pittsburgh sports, especially football and basketball, and his professional sports teams include of the Pittsburgh Penguins, Pittsburgh Pirates, and Philadelphia Eagles. He dedicates time to exercising regularly and finds joy in cooking, watching movies and TV shows, and exploring new destinations.
